Got questions? We've got answers! Here are the most common questions we get about our duck rental service.
Absolutely! All of our ducks are hand-raised from ducklings and are very comfortable around people, including kids. They're gentle and used to being handled. That said, we always provide a safety briefing that includes proper handling techniques. Young children should be supervised by adults during interaction, just like with any animal.
Ducks actually love water, so a little rain doesn't bother them at all! Our pens include a shade cover that provides some weather protection. If there's a severe weather warning (thunderstorm, etc.), we can reschedule at no charge with at least 24 hours notice. Just give us a call.
For our standard packages, we recommend at least a 10x10 foot area. The pens themselves are about 8x8 feet, but we need a little extra space around them for setup. The area should be relatively flat and free of hazards. We can work with different spaces - just let us know what you have available!
Ducks are naturally clean animals! We bring freshly bathed ducks, clean bedding, and all the supplies needed to keep the area tidy. For longer rentals (like the school program), we provide instructions on maintaining cleanliness. As long as basic care is followed, there shouldn't be any significant odor issues.
Yes! Our ducks are socialized and enjoy gentle interaction. We'll show you the proper way to hold them during our safety briefing. Some ducks are more cuddly than others - they each have their own personality. Generally, they love being petted and hand-fed treats.
First, our ducks are healthy and well-cared for, so this is rare. Second, we're just a phone call away 24/7. If something seems wrong, call us immediately and we'll guide you through what to do or come out if needed. We're fully insured and take responsibility for the health and safety of our ducks.
We recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance, especially for weekends and during spring/summer when we're busiest. For school programs, 6-8 weeks notice is ideal. However, if you need ducks sooner, give us a call - we'll do our best to accommodate last-minute requests if we have availability.
Yes! We typically serve the greater Boston/MetroWest area. Our standard packages include delivery within 20 miles of Framingham. The Premium package includes up to 50 miles. For locations beyond that, we may be able to accommodate with an additional travel fee. Just ask!
We understand that plans change! You can cancel or reschedule up to 2 weeks before your event for a full refund. Cancellations within 2 weeks receive a 50% refund. Weather-related cancellations can be rescheduled at no charge. See our full Terms of Service for complete details.
Yes! We provide appropriate duck food with each rental. Guests can feed them under supervision. We'll tell you what foods are safe and which ones to avoid. Pro tip: ducks go crazy for peas and mealworms!
Yes, we are! We carry full liability insurance and are licensed with the state of Massachusetts. Your safety and peace of mind are important to us. We're happy to provide proof of insurance if your venue requires it.
If you're having such a great time that you want to keep the ducks longer, just call us! We can often extend rentals if we don't have another booking immediately after yours. Additional hours are prorated based on the package rate.
Ducks do quack, but not excessively! They're most vocal when they're excited (like during feeding time). It's part of their charm. They're generally quieter than you might expect. If noise is a concern for your event or location, let us know and we can select our quieter breeds.
Absolutely! Ducks make great photo subjects and they seem to love the attention. We encourage photos and videos. Feel free to share on social media and tag us - we love seeing happy customers with our ducks!
Don't see your question here? No problem! Give us a call or send us an email. We're a friendly family and we're always happy to chat about our ducks.
