We specialize in one thing, and one thing only.

“Killing GREEN

( Children 14 and under hunt for Half Price, after Minimum is met)

“Make It A Father, Son/Daughter Affair”

Minimum Rate  (1 or 2 Hunters)  - $500.00

We are able to take just 1 or 2 hunters, with a minimum charge for the Airboat, Guide, Dog and Equipment. If you are looking for a Small Personalized Hunting trip, Guns-Up Guide Service excels at this type of hunt. Although the expense to Guns-Up Guide Service is the same for 1 hunter as it is for 4 Hunters, the cost is very little, compared to the quality and service that our guides can provide to a smaller group of hunters.

3 or 4 Hunters - $200.00 per Hunter

We suggest that clients put together a hunting group of 3 or 4 Hunters when you plan your hunt. The cost is the same to run the Airboat for 1 Hunter or 4 Hunters. We are able to pass the saving on to the clients when you book a group of 3 or 4 hunters.

6 to 8 Hunters - $200.00 per Hunter

If you have a group of 6 to 8 hunters, we are able to break into groups of 3 or 4 Hunters and use 2 Airboats. We will usually be able to hunt the same area, but 2 different locations, putting each group in a small enough group to try and ensure a more successful, and personal hunt. It also allows us to not shoot out holes, plus be more selective in the birds we shoot from each group (Only “GREEN” when possible). When we have groups of 6-8 mallards break in on the decoys, a group of 3 or 4 Hunters will be able to surgically remove the “GREEN” from the group, instead of 6-8 hunter trying to drop all 6-8 birds in the group. Leaving the Hen to breed for the years to come is very high on our list of things we try to achieve with each hunt, and hunting a smaller group is one way we have found to make this happen.

“Lodging”

With our Guide Service being Mobile, and able to move through North and Central Texas, also hunting the entire State of Oklahoma, we are always moving to where the birds are. Guns-Up Guide Service does not wait for the ducks to work their way to us. We go find them, where ever they are.

With this new concept of Guiding, we have worked out deal with Local Motels in the areas we hunt, to give our clients a reduced rate (Usually $50 for 2 beds). It allows the client to divide up and share the cost of the rooms, how ever they choose. The guides stay at the same Motels. We search to find the cheapest rates that we can, with Clean, Warm, and Safe rooms being the focus. If staying at a Higher Quality Motel is the wishes of our clients,  just make that request know at the time of booking and you will be given the Phone # of other Motels in the area.

We will call the Contact for the Hunting Party the week before the scheduled hunt. At this time, a location of where we are expecting to find birds, Motel Phone #, Meeting Location will be given to the Contact Client. The Hunting Party is responsible for making arrangement with the Motel for the night they will be staying for the scheduled hunt. If you wish to drive up on the morning of the hunt, it is the clients privilege. Any problem on the way to the meeting area (Car Trouble, Sickness, A Member not Showing, etc) will result in the loss of the deposit.

     ”Needs For The Hunt”

  1. Required Hunting License: for the State that the hunt will take place in. Most of our hunts will require an Oklahoma Hunting License. Oklahoma has a % day Hunting License that is $45.00, and a Phone # that will let you order the Licenses on the phone, with a Credit Card the night before the hunt, if arrangements had not been made before the Hunt. This Oklahoma License Phone # is:

  2. Shotgun Of Choice: ( 20ga, 12ga, and 10ga) are all suitable for the task we will be asking of it.

  3. Shells: for preferred Shotgun. (Law requires STEEL or No-Tox Shell to be used). Shell Length is a personal choice of the hunter, ( we perfer 3″, or 3½”shells).  Pellet Size #3’s or #4’s gives a denser pattern, which turns into more hits on the target.

  4. Waders:Chest Waders are suggested. It rarely if deep enough water to need them, but they are very useful in keeping warm on the Airboat ride to and from the Hunt, and during the December and January days.

  5. Clothing: We are big believer in layer dressing.  Fleece worn next to the body allows moisture to be wicked away from the body.  With a Water PROOF Outer Jacket will do most of the work. We also use Fleece Socks, with a second pair of the highest % of Wool Socks, over the Fleece socks. Either Face Paint or a Face Mask is a must with the “In Yo Face” shooting we expect to see.

  6. Camera and Snacks:  We suggest you bring your camera, or buy a disposable camera for taking pictures of you hunt. The Guides will have Digital Camera’s to take Pictures of before and after the hunt. But during the hunt is where you will need to take the pictures of the things that interest you. The guides will be focused on getting the birds to work, and cupped up birds, dog work, or just something that you think is interesting is up to the Hunter. It is always a good thought to have a snack or two in your Hunting Bag, just to keep from getting hungry.

Guns-Up Guide Service will provide the Airboat, Guide, Dog, Decoys, Calling, and “The GREEN if things go as planned. If you have a dog and wish to bring them, we request that you tell us at the time of booking. The dog will need to be obedient, as we expect to have birds within 20 yards, some landing in the water while we wait on the final few to get in range. With the moving water of a river, the dog must be able to clean up a area of fallen birds in a hurry, so the river does not carry them off.

We will do everything that we can to put you on the hunt of a lifetime, and memories that you will carry the rest of your life. If you book a hunt just one time…  We WILL see you again, very soon. The Airboat ride is an experience by itself. The Fantastic GREEN Shooting is just one of the perks.

At the time of booking, a deposit of 1/2 the Hunting Fee will excepted, with the balance to be paid before the Airboat departs for the Hunt. This will get all business concluded, with nothing on anyone’s mind but Whack’n & Stack’n.

Try to book your hunt in advance. We have several clients that book 1-3 hunts per years, so get your date in early for a bigger choice of Open Dates.
